Beginner Guitar Chords
Being introduced to your first guitar chords is a lot like piano chords. Beginner Guitar chords obviously do look different but it really is just a different prospective of where your hand placements are on the fret of the guitar.
Piano music will still use chord symbols like, Cm, G7, Eb, E#m. So whether you are reading guitar music or piano sheet music these symbols will still be the same for your guitar chords. So don't let these symbols get too confusing, you will pick this up as you go along.
There are a few great Online Guitar Tuition programs that can teach you all of this and more. Guitar Tricks and Jamorama are two brilliant Online courses for a lot less then getting private tuition elsewhere.
Tabs are drawn as a chart using the fret board of your guitar as a background image. They use 6 lines which are drawn on a chart image to represent the guitar strings. Tabs are mostly but not always seen for fretting stringed instruments. The context is called Tabs or Tablature.
Guitar chords are illustrated with chord diagrams. Acoustic and Electric Guitar chords diagrams are much the same as guitar Tabs, exception being the strings are represented by lines running vertically (up & Downs) not Horizontal (Side to Side) It goes without saying that the beginner Guitar chords of a guitar are the most important aspect when it comes to playing.
Chords are just a series of 3 or more notes played together. There are three groups of guitar chords, they are Major, Minor, and the seventh chords. The difference is the way they sound. Each having its own unique sound as you will find out as you try each one.
I love using a few basic Minor chords together to put a great sounding song together. Using the Em, Am, then adding in the G & D chords. Just rolling through those 4 chords you can make up your own little songs. Just jam around and have fun. That’s what it’s all about when you start learning guitar.
Some simple movements with your hand can also change the effect and sounds, but that is a little further along. You can pick through the chord or strum. Varying this, sounds fantastic. Beginner Guitar Chords takes advantage of the intervals between the strings, which in each case are perfect fourths excepting the interval between the B (second) and G (Third) strings which is a major third.
Anyway that’s starting to get a little more complicated. When just starting to learn your first guitar chords, take it one step at a time. It will all come together quicker then you think.
So start out by just moving through each chord pattern slowly, placing your fingers as directed on the fret board of your guitar. Then just strum through slowly making sure you have a good connection between the fret board and the string you are pushing down on.
Repetition is the most important thing at this stage. Don't get frustrated and give up. It will come to you eventually. Beginner Guitar Chords are something you need to establish first and lay the foundation for your days of fun playing the guitar. As they say, Practice Practice Practice! And that is the truth to it. So have fun learning your Beginner Guitar Chords.
